SERVICE & PURCHASE HISTORY

SERVICE HISTORY:

NOTE:
Though GS 198 is a very low milleage car for its age and is only driven an average of 450 miles a year since I purchased it, it is still maintained on a regular basis. All fluid changes and regular maintenance has been performed regardless of total miles driven. Fluids will deteriorate in time, even if a car is not used.

Beware
of other ultra low mileage older cars being sold that may have not been serviced regularly, or have been sitting a long time with out proper storage preparations! Be careful of other cars that may have very little mileage, but may have original 12 year old fluids in them.

When GS 198 is in storage, fuel stabilizer and gas-treatement is always added to the full (fresh) gas tank, and the tires are over-pressured to prevent flat spotting. Moisture in the fuel system can be devastating to the injectors on these motors so proper long term storage preparations are imperative. The convertible top is also unlatched front and back, so as to prevent the material from stretching due to shrinkage in cold temperatures, and also to preserve the weather stripping. GS 198 is also started and run regularly at least every three months, even during the winter.

GS 198 is always kept in show-ready condition, under cover, and indoors. In my years of ownership, it has never been driven in the rain. Only the finest detailing products are used, including an annual application of Mother's Pure Carnauba paste wax, and regular treatments of Meguires 'Gold Class' on the leather seats.

Service all performed at Wilson Niblett, Canada's #1 Corvette Dealer, and invoices are included with the car.

PURCHASE HISTORY:

According to the documentation and Window Sticker , GS 198 was originally sold by Arrow Chevrolet in Midlothian Illinois to its undisclosed first owner.

We purchased our mint condition 1996 Corvette Grand Sport (GS #198) from Roger's Corvette Centre of Orlando Florida in October of 2000, with only 13,356 original miles on it. Currently, GS198 has only 16,686 miles on it.

To-date, we have added an additional 2800 miles to the car in 6 seasons of driving.

During our three day trip in October of 2000 to purchase our Corvette, we had the pleasure of meeting Roger and David Judski,
and viewed the many fabulous Corvettes for sale and on display in the showroom.
We used a shipper that was very experienced in importing cars from the States called TFX International. They have a fleet of trucks, including several huge 50 foot all hydraulic enclosed, padded, trailers that can carry five vehicles, which ours came up in. They even have hydraulic lift platforms for loading, which are perfect for vehicles with low front spoilers. This company has shipped everything from Formula 1 cars to vehicles owned by movie stars, though they specialize in transporting "snow bird's" cars for retirees that winter in Florida. They are based near the Pearson Airport in Mississauga Ontario and I would recommend them highly. It all went smoothly, and after clearing customs in Toronto, my car was loaded into a smaller single car enclosed trailer and they delivered to our house.

We obtained a temporary 10 day licence and took the car to a Corvette Club of Ontario sponsor dealership Wilson Niblett. They changed all the fluids- brakes, diff, rad, oil, etc, and gave it a four wheel alignment. They also did a Ontario Safety Certification inspection and an emissions test for the Provincial requirements. For the Federal requirements, Wilson Niblett gave me a letter declaring that the car was free of any recalls, and they also wired in a module so that when the car is running, and no lights are turned on, the fog lamps are lit to act as day time running lights.

The next step was the Federal inspection, under the Registrar of Imported Vehicles program. I had the vehicle inspected for the recall letter, day time running lights, and metric capable speedo. The inspector stamped the Form One that I had received from the Customs office, and I took this form, along with the emissions and safety certificates, original title, proof of insurance, and bill of sale, to my local Provincial licensing office where I paid the 8% sales tax, registered the vehicle and ordered our personalized licence plates: 96 LT4.
