All Grand Sport Corvettes came equipped with the 330 horse power LT4 engine, mated to a ZF 6 speed manual transmission. 1996 was the only year that the LT4 package was ever offered. GS 198 has had no major modifications, and is virtually original. It even has factory original air in the tires! We have only installed a replacement Delco battery, and a back-up light switch. The manual insturcts to leave the car parked in reverse - big mistake, over time this damages the reverse light switch. Should be parked in 1st gear or neutral, with the parking brake activated.
K & N air filter, and a High Flow open metal air cleaner lid, all from Mid America Designs to help it breathe a bit better, as well as a CAGS eliminator harness to improve safety, are the only upgrades done to the car. Original air cleaner lid and front licence bumper cover included with sale.

The optional Delco/Bose Gold Series sound system includes a compact dics player and cassette deck. It has SCV, a system that automatically adjusts volume to vehicle speed.

The Convertible Preferred Equipment Group #1 includes Electronic climate control, and six way power driver's seat. Power passenger seat was included in the Grand Sport option package. No hard tops were available for Grand Sport Corvettes, and the only top colour available was white. The rear window is glass, and has a built in defrosting element.
